今から、名古屋を出発します。現在セントレアで、飛行機を待っています。今回の名古屋での学会では、たくさん勉強もできましたし、多くの先生方とお話しする機会もあり非常に有意義な3日間でした。ワシントンに行ってきます。

From now, I leave Nagoya to Washington D.C. I’m waiting the flight at Nagoya international airport. I attended last week’s Congress at Nagaya. I could learn lot of things and there are many chances to talk with many Japanese and foreign doctors.

4月9日夜にLADG若手の会がありました。今回は、40歳前後以下の先生方のみの参加となりました。食事をしながら、手術のビデオをお互いに見せあって、ざっくばらんにコメントをしあう会です。私の韓国での症例を含めて合計7症例が出され、お互いに刺激を受け、楽しい時間でした。残念ながら、写真を撮るのを忘れていました。

Tonight, the meeting of LADG for young surgeon was held. The participants were all under or around 40 years old surgeons. While eating dinner, we showed and commented cheerfully own operation DVD each other. Seven doctors including my operation in Korea showed their DVD and it was really stimulus and pleasant. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures.

今回宇山教授はランチョンセミナーと、卒後教育セミナーでロボット手術に関するお話をされましたが、日本の先生方にこの新しい手術に対する関心が非常に高いことを知りました。自分の発表は9日の午前で、テーマは、胃癌手術における腹腔鏡手術とロボット手術との比較検討でした。朝一番のセッションでしたが、多くの先生方に来ていただきました。

Prof. Uyama had two speeches regarding robotic surgery. One was luncheon seminar and the other was post graduate seminar. There were a lot of audience and I realized that many Japanese doctors are curious about robotic surgery. My presentation was at 8th morning session. The title was “Retrospective study over 200 cases comparing with laparoscopic and robotic subtotal gastrectomy for gastric cancer” Though it was early morning session, many doctors had listened to our presentation.

昼食会で、Travel Grantの表彰式に出席しました。桜井教授と写真を撮らせていただきました。

At the lunch time, I attended an award ceremony of travel grant. I took picture with Prof. Sakurai.

本年度の日本外科学会は名古屋国際会議場で行われました。我々日本の外科の世界では言わずと知れた一番大きな学会です。現在は海外留学生という立場なので、参加は難しいと思っていましたが、Travel Grantという枠での参加が可能となりました。

企業展示では、ダビンチの展示がありました。親しくさせていただいているアダチやIntuitiveのスタッフの方々とたくさんお話をしました。

This year’s annual congress of Japanese surgical society was held at Nagoya convention center. Needless to say, this is the largest congress in Japanese surgery. At first, I had thought it is difficult to attend to the congress; however, I could attend as a travel grant.

Da Vinci was exhibited in the area of exhibition of company. I talked with many Adachi/ Intuitive company staffs and took this picture.

ご無沙汰しています。ソウルに戻りました。3月4日と5日は新潟での日本胃癌学会に参加してきました。韓国からは、約80演題が、エントリーされ、多くの先生が来られました。藤田からは、宇山、桜井、金谷、礒垣、石田、吉村、河村、春田先生が参加され、藤田での腹腔鏡手術及び、ロボット手術の発表をされました。

I’m sorry I didn’t write this blog more than 1 week. I came back to Seoul. I joined “The annual meeting of Japanese Gastric cancer Society at Niigata, Japan” from 4^th to 5^th, March. From Korea, about 80 numbers of presentations were submitted and many Korean doctors came to Niigata. From Fujita Health University, Prof. Uyama, Prof. Sakurai, Dr. Kanaya, Dr. Isogaki, Dr. Ishida, Dr. Yoshimura, Dr. Kawamura and Dr. Haruta participated this meeting. They presented regarding laparoscopic or robotic gastrectomy.

今回、私は、インターナショナルセッションで「ロボット手術に対する術前合併症の影響について」の発表でした。日韓の多くの先生がおられ、緊張しましたが無事終わりました。連日、色々なメンバーで宴会があり、昼夜ともに有意義な時間を過ごしました。

“Impact of Comorbidity on the Postoperative Complications after Robotic Gastrectomy”

Because many Korean and Japanese doctors were in our room, I was quite strained. However, the presentation was uneventfully finished.

During the meeting, everyday, I joined dinner party with different members. I spent useful days.

昨年末、名古屋大学第二外科小寺准教授、藤原准教授が、ヨンセイ大学に見学に来られたご縁で今回の帰国に合わせて、藤原准教授の腹腔鏡手術見学をさせていただきました。手術後は消化管カンファレンスにも参加させていただきました。名古屋大学ではヴァーチャルシュミレーターを用いた研究もされており、そちらの施設も見学させていただきました。その後、食事会も企画していただき、有意義で楽しい一日を過ごさせていただきました。

Last December, Associated Professor Kodera and Fujiwara in Nagoya University, Surgery 2 came to observe robotic surgery in Yonsei University. They gave me this chance to observe Dr. Fujiwara’s laparoscopic surgery at Nagoya University. After operation, I joined their conference, observed office regarding virtual simulator. Finally, Dr, Kodera, Dr. Fujiwara and their colleagues invited me to the dinner. It was very stimulus and joyful day.

日本に帰ってきました。そして、土曜日午後からの京都での会合に参加しました。京大、九州大学、藤田保健衛生大学などの多くの先生が参加され、消化管の腹腔鏡及びロボット手術手技についての活発な議論が夜遅くまでされました。(注：当研究会は公式な会ですが、参加施設を限定したクローズの会です)。

I came back to Japan. On Saturday afternoon, I participated in one meeting in Kyoto. Many general surgeons who are belong to Kyoto University, Kyushu University, Fujita Health University and so on joined to the meeting. Lively discussion about laparoscopic and robotic surgery of alimentary tract was done until midnight. (This meeting is official but closed and participants are from the restricted institutions)
