日本に帰ってきました。そして、土曜日午後からの京都での会合に参加しました。京大、九州大学、藤田保健衛生大学などの多くの先生が参加され、消化管の腹腔鏡及びロボット手術手技についての活発な議論が夜遅くまでされました。(注：当研究会は公式な会ですが、参加施設を限定したクローズの会です)。
I came back to Japan. On Saturday afternoon, I participated in one meeting in Kyoto. Many general surgeons who are belong to Kyoto University, Kyushu University, Fujita Health University and so on joined to the meeting. Lively discussion about laparoscopic and robotic surgery of alimentary tract was done until midnight. (This meeting is official but closed and participants are from the restricted institutions)
ソウル大学での１週間の研修を終えて、本日一時帰国します。Yan教授とスタッフの先生方には、本当にお世話になりました。帰る前に、個別にお話しする時間を取ってくださいました。胃癌治療に対して我々ががなすべき役割、国際交流など熱いメッセージをいただきました。
明日京都で開かれるセミナーに参加します。また３月３日から５日に新潟で開かれる日本胃癌学会に参加します。

After this academic week at Seoul National University, I go back to Japan temporarily.? I had gotten really heartful tretment from Professor Yan and his staffs. Before I leave the University, he gave me excellent message such as what should we do to the treatment of gastric cancer?, the necessity of international medical and cultural collaboration and so on.
I will join one seminar at Kyoto tomorrow evening. From 3rd to 5th of March, Annual Meeting of Japanese Gastric cancer??Association will be opened at Niigata, Japan and I will join it.

昨晩、PM9時ごろに連絡があり、ソウル大学での朝のカンファレンスで、急遽発表することになりましたが、無事、終了しました。
テーマは、①どうして、韓国に来たのか ②胃癌治療における韓国と日本の比較でした。結局朝の4時まで、準備の時間がかかりましたが、いいものができましたと勝手に思っています。写真はその表紙のページです。上記①,②に加えて、我々(藤田)の得意分野である、再建(胃切除後の消化管吻合)の話を加えました。おまけで、名古屋の宣伝もしておきました。
その他、研究テーマのカンファレンスもあり、ソウル大学の基礎及び臨床研究レベルの高さには、感銘を受けました。
午前中、Yan教授の外来を見せていただき、解散となりました。さすがに、帰るときには、ふらふらでした。

Last night, around PM 9 o’clock, I catch a call and was surprisingly informed to have an opportunity of my presentation at tomorrow morning conference (Seoul National University). My presentation was successfully finished!
The theme was here. 1) The reason why I came to Korea. 2) The comparison regarding the treatment of gastric cancer between Korea and Japan. Though I finished preparing for the presentation at AM 4 o’clock, I believe it was quite nice. The picture was the title page. I introduced Nagoya city and our reconstruction method after laparoscopic gastrectomy which is one of our strong fields. Their basic and clinic research works were also discussed and the quality and potentiality were quite impressive.
In the morning, Prof. Yan was invited me to observe his out clinic. When I went back Yonsei University, my memory system was almost broken because of the sleeplessness.
今日は、手術3件を見学しました。明日朝、カンファレンスで発表する機会を頂きました。それを聞いたのは、午後9時ごろでしたが。今から準備します。
Today, I observed 3 operations. Tomorrow morning, I had an opportunity of presentation at morning conference about my research work. I just heard about that around PM 9 o’clock… Just now I will prepare for tomorrow presentation.
今日は手術はありませんでしたが、ヤン教授の回診につかせて頂きました。また時間をとってください、僕らに英語で講義をしてくれました。
Today, there was no operation. Professor Yan invited us to his patients’ word round and gave us a wonderful lecture in English about Korean status of gastric cancer and research work of the University etc.
約100年前に建てられたこの建物は、本院の前にあります。時間があったので、見学に行きましたら、医学博物館でした。
This building (picture) which was made in 100 years ago is in front of the main hospital. Now, there are medical museum in the building.
地下鉄を使って、ソウル大学に行ってきました。今日から、1週間の予定です。ソウル大学は、日本の東大と言われています。一方、ヨンセイ大学は、日本の慶応大学と言われています。
By using subway, I went to Hospital. The schedule is from Monday to Friday. Seoul National University is said like Tokyo University. On the other hand yonsei University is said like Keio University.
さて、病院に着き、Yan(ヤン)教授の部屋に案内してもらいました。まず、1週間の見学の機会を下さったことに、感謝の言葉を言いました。
その後、手術室に案内していただきました。今日は3件の胃切除手術を見学しました。ニューヨークから1人先生が、来られており、また、ドイツ生まれの韓国人学生さんも見学に来られました。ともに、Native Englishだったのですが、手術の合間に、それぞれの国の話で盛り上がりました。
After arriving at the hospital, information staff guided me to Prof. Yan’s office. At first, I talked to Prof. Yan that I’m really appreciated you to give me a good opportunity to visit your hospital. Three gastrectomies were scheduled and I observed these operations. In the operation room, I met one American doctor who came from New York and students who are staying in Germany. Both of them were native English speakers. At the interval time of the operation, we enjoyed conversation about our own countries.?
大学では、手術と、臨床研究の勉強をしていますが、他に、毎日していることがあります。それは、英語と、ハングル語のリスニングです。いずれも、NHKのインターネットサイトを使っています。ラジオで、放送された内容が、1週間遅れますが、ネットで、聞くことができます。写真は、ある日のプログラムです。韓国の方は、内容おわかりですよね。
My main work in the University is both operation and clinical research. In addition, everyday, I try to listen to English and Korean language program.??I’m using Japanese NHK internet program. Though it is delayed one week, I can listen to whole program. Hi, my Korean friends! You can read this text book.
それぞれ、15分の番組なので、あわせて、30分です。聞いている割に上達しているかといわれると、疑問ですが、気分転換と思って聞いています。
Each of the programs?are 15 minutes. I’m not sure my language skill is improving or not. However, it is one of my relaxing times!
あと、ソウル大学のYang教授とこちらのHyung先生のご好意で、明日から1週間、ソウル大学で勉強する機会をいただきました。どきどき、わくわくですが、頑張ってきます。
And, here is big news for me. Through the kindness of Professor Yang of Seoul National University and Dr. Hyung, I had good opportunity to study 1 week from tomorrow at Seoul National University. I’m very exciting to learn at the?University.
こちらは、昨日の晩御飯です。実は、コンビニ弁当でした。日本と同じでしょう。キムチが、勿論ついていますよ。
This is last night dinner. It’s “Bento” which I bought at convenience store. It is almost same with that of Japan. Of course, kimuchi is there. ?

今日は、土曜日でしたが、外科全体の月1回の朝のmeetingがありました。今日は、年度納めの会でした。チーフレジデントの先生から、1ヶ月の入院患者数、手術件数などの報告があり、退職される先生への証書の授与、最後に、Noh(ノー)主任教授から胃癌手術に関する講演がありました。
Though today is Saturday, we had monthly morning conference with all of general surgeons. Chief resident doctor presented this month’s number of admission patients and operations. In Korea, February is the final month of the year. Prof. Noh gave the certificate to the doctors who retire in this month and gave us a lecture regarding operation of gastric cancer.

その後、新研究棟に移りましたが、今日は、朝9時ごろから、そのお祝いの会がありました。病院の偉い先生方が、来られて、挨拶があり、皆で、食事をしました。残念ながら、何をしゃべられたかはわかりません。食事は、チキン、のり巻、寿司、お餅などです。1枚目の写真は、偉い先生方の挨拶の場面です。2枚目の写真は、フェローの先生方です。
After finishing the meeting, we moved to the new research building. Today we had ceremony at 9 o’ clock of this new building which was built in this month. Many VIP doctors of our hospital came and gave speech to us. Unfortunately, I couldn’t understand what they are talking. We enjoyed also a lot of meal (chicken, rice rolled, susi, rice cake and so on)! At the first photo, many senior doctors are giving us a speech. The second photo is meals with fellow doctors.
こちらは手術中の光景です。左の女性は手術介助の看護師さん、右の女性は、手術のアシスタント看護師さんです。韓国では色々な看護師さんがおられます。手術道具の受け渡し看護師(通常、器械出し看護師といいます)、手術アシスタント看護師、病棟看護師、外来看護師、データ管理看護師などです。
彼女達は、英語で話すのはそれほど得意ではなかったようでしたが、最近では、僕の話す(?)身振り手振りの英語もわかるようになってきたみたいで、親切にしてもらっています。最近は、手術前後の空いた時間にハングル語の指導も受けています。

Here is the situation of robotic operation. A beauiful ladies in left side is scrubbing nurse and that of right side is assistant nurse for our operation. In Korea, there are various kinds of nurses, such as scrubbing, ward, out clinic and data management nurse.
At first,?they was very shy to talk with me by English. But nowadays, there is not so difficult to communicate with my body language.?They?are not only kind but also good teacher for me?of Korean language!
韓国の皆さんには、とても親切にしてもらっています。ブログの更新のため色々、写真を撮らせてもらいたい話をしたところ、そのサイトを見たいと言われました。ハングル語では、書くことは難しいので、できる限り、英語でも書くように頑張ります。
I’m very happy because now many Korean staffs support me of my Korean academic works. I talked about this blog to them because I wanted to take many pictures with them.? They wanted me to see our blog. However it is difficult to write in Korean language. So I try to start to write my diary both Japanese and English as much as possible.

今日は、午前中に１件のロボット胃切除手術がありましたが、アメリカからサハ先生(写真中央)が、講演及びロボット手術見学に来られました。手術前にこちらのスタッフの皆さんと、写真を撮りました。左は、大腸外科のホー先生、ピンクの服の女性は、手術室看護師の方です。主にロボット手術に介助として入られます。言葉が不自由だと手術中の道具の受け渡しなど、難しいことが多々あったのですが、ソウルに来た当初から、ずっと親切にしてもらっています。最近は、手術前後の空いた時間にハングル語の指導も受けています。
Today, we have one robotic subtotal gastrectomy. Before the operation, we took picture. Dr. Saha (center’s doctor) came from Michigan, USA to give us a lecture and observe our hospital’s robotic surgery. Dr. Hoe (left doctor) is colorectal surgeon of our University. And beautiful operation nurse staffs are wearing pink cloth. They are very kind to me from coming to Seoul. Nowadays they also teach me Korean languages!
